Cloud View

One of those cold Autumn/Winter days that produced the most remarkable views at the bottom of the garden.

Rye grass nitrogen fix

Read somewhere that you can plant a green compost that rots down and improves the soil structure. Planted some Rye Grass which seems to have taken well, will let you know how I get on.

Winter prep on footpaths

The wood chip paths I put down two years ago have started to compost so the back breaking task of digging it all up, sifting the soil onto the beds and replacing with a new batch of wood chip has started.

It's the sifting of the soil from the wood chip that really knackers you out

Mushroom medley

Here’s a selection of shots of our fungi friends in the garden and out and about near the house. My knowledge is patchy at best, I recognise the hen of the woods but the rest would probably lead to a trip to A&E. Answers gratefully received!

Harsh winter beauty

Just going back through some old photos, it was some winter wasn’t it? Inside window’s even began to freeze over although the Rosemary bush looks like it could pretty much survive anything.

Please warm up!

Chives in bloom

Our chives seem to have done brilliantly this year, love the purple flowers, almost as much as I love adding chopped chives to scrambled eggs for a Sunday breakfast!
